To upgrade a 2018–2020 M5 to the 2021+ LCI look:
The Package Requirement: You cannot swap headlights alone. The LCI lights are slimmer and have a different lower edge; you must install the LCI Bumper and LCI Grilles at the same time for the lines to meet correctly.
Active Air Flaps: The LCI uses a unified one-piece kidney grille with updated motorized shutters. Ensure the package includes the LCI-specific shutter motor and frame.
Coding: The new LED/Laser logic requires VO (Vehicle Order) coding of the BDC (Body Domain Controller). Without coding, the DRLs may flicker or fail to initialize.
