BMW M4 (F82) Competition Interior Set
Lightweight M-Sport Seats | Merino Leather | Door Panels | 2016–2020
The F82 M4 Competition Package (ZCP) interior is highly sought after for its distinctive “speed hole” seats and premium finishes. Unlike the standard M4, the Competition variant prioritizes lateral support and weight reduction while maintaining BMW’s luxury standards. Sourcing a complete set in Merino Leather—especially in popular colors like Sakhir Orange (LKDA) or Black (LKSW)—is the ultimate way to refresh an F32 4 Series or a base M4.
Core Components in the Interior Package
| Category | Component Detail |
| Front Seats | Lightweight M-Sport Seats: Feature vertical cut-outs (“speed holes”) in the backrest and M-striped seatbelts. |
| Rear Seats | Matching Merino Leather bench with fixed or folding headrests (coupe-specific). |
| Door Panels | Front and Rear panels with Merino Leather inserts, contrast stitching, and integrated ambient lighting. |
| Center Console | Leather-wrapped knee pads and M-specific carbon fiber or Alcantara trim inserts. |
| Hardware | Seat rails, motors, and memory modules (ensure these are included for plug-and-play install). |
Competition vs. Standard M4 Interior
-
The “Speed Holes”: The most obvious visual tell. The Competition seats have two vertical apertures in the backrest. While they look aggressive, they actually provide improved ventilation and a slight weight saving.
-
Lumbar Support: Important Note: To achieve the slim profile, Competition seats do not have adjustable lumbar support (Lumbar Delete), unlike standard M4 seats.
-
M-Stripe Seatbelts: Genuine ZCP sets include seatbelts with the M-Tricolor stitching woven into the fabric edge—a detail often missed in “tribute” builds.
-
Merino Leather: Competition models almost exclusively used Extended or Full Merino Leather, which is softer and more premium than the Dakota leather found in lower trims.
Fitment & Retrofit Intelligence
 Compatibility Guide:
-
F22/F32 Retrofits: These seats will physically bolt into a 2 Series (F22) or 4 Series (F32). However, you will need to swap your existing seat modules or perform coding via E-Sys/BimmerCode to prevent airbag (SRS) warnings.
-
Door Panels: F82 M4 front door panels are identical in fitment to the F32 4 Series Coupe. They will not fit the F80 M3 (Sedan) or F30 3 Series.
-
Heating & Memory: Ensure the donor set matches your car’s options. If your car has heated seats and the new ones don’t (or vice versa), additional wiring and a new climate control panel may be required.
