Bentley Audi Porsche Akebono Ceramic 10 Piston Brake Calipers NEW
The Akebono 10-Piston Caliper is the flagship braking component for the Volkswagen Group’s high-end MLB-Evo platform. Found on the Bentley Bentayga, Audi RS6/RS7, and Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT, this caliper is designed specifically to clamp the massive $420\text{mm}$ or $440\text{mm}$ Carbon Ceramic (CSiC) discs.
While Brembo supplied the earlier 8-piston units, Akebono became the primary supplier for the newer 10-piston “Super-Caliper” found in vehicles from 2017 to 2026.
1. Key Part Numbers by Brand
Although the internal casting is often the same, the mounting brackets and fluid ports can vary slightly between brands.

2. Technical Specifications
-
Piston Configuration: 10 opposed pistons (5 on each side). This provides perfectly even pressure distribution across the massive brake pad.
-
Construction: Aluminum Monobloc (machined from a single solid piece) for maximum rigidity under extreme heat ($900^\circ\text{C}+$).
-
Weight: Approximately $6.5\text{ kg} – 7.2\text{ kg}$ (caliper only), which is remarkably light for its size.
-
Disc Pairing: Specifically engineered for $420\text{mm} \times 40\text{mm}$ or $440\text{mm} \times 40\text{mm}$ carbon-ceramic rotors.
3. “NEW” Condition Identification
When buying these calipers as “New,” look for these factory markers to avoid “refurbished” or “take-off” units:
-
Piston Seals: Factory new units have bright, supple EPDM rubber boots with no signs of heat-cycle hardening or brake fluid residue.
-
Mounting Bolts: Genuine new calipers usually include a specialized anti-corrosion coating on the internal threads.
-
Serial Labels: Akebono applies a QR-coded thermal label on the rear of the caliper body that matches the box’s manufacturing date.
