Porsche Macan Facelift Rear 2020 Sport Design Volcano Grey
For the 2020 Porsche Macan (95B.2 Facelift), the SportDesign Rear Bumper in Volcano Grey Metallic (Paint Code: M7R) is one of the most sought-after visual upgrades. It replaces the standard “clamshell” black plastic rear with a more aggressive, multi-piece body-colored assembly.
1. The SportDesign Rear Package: What’s Different?
On a 2020 Macan S or Turbo, the SportDesign rear significantly alters the car’s profile:
-
Body-Colored Lower Apron: The standard black textured plastic is replaced by a smooth, painted section in Volcano Grey.
-
Aggressive Diffuser: Features more prominent vertical “fins” (ribs) borrowed from Porsche’s motorsport design.
-
Painted Rear Mid-Section: The area immediately surrounding the license plate and above the diffuser is typically painted in the exterior color rather than left matte.
-
Exhaust Cutouts: Designed specifically for the Sport Exhaust System quad-tips (typically finished in High Gloss Black or Silver).
2. Volcano Grey Metallic (M7R) Specifics
Volcano Grey is a “Legend” color in the Porsche palette—a deep, metallic anthracite.
-
The Finish: Because the SportDesign package is painted, it reflects light much more than the standard plastic. If you are buying a used “take-off” bumper, ensure it is the metallic version (M7R), as there is a similar non-metallic “Vesuvius Grey” used on some off-road trim packages that will not match your paint.

3. Compatibility & Retrofit (95B.1 vs. 95B.2)
If you are planning to install this on a Macan from 2014–2018 (95B.1), note the following:
-
The Light Strip: The 2020 (95B.2) SportDesign bumper is designed for the 3D LED Light Strip. You cannot use your old separate 95B.1 taillights with this bumper without a complete rear-end facelift (which includes a new trunk lid).
-
Parking Sensors (PDC): The sensor brackets are slightly different. Most 2020 SportDesign bumpers come pre-drilled for 6 sensors (4 rear + 2 side).
