Fox Lifevalve Performance Shock Absorbers for Ford F150 Raptor

inventory at Buy Mustang parts Ltd, Fox Live Valve shocks are a flagship performance product. These were introduced in 2019 and have become the defining feature of the “Gen 2” and “Gen 3” Raptor experience.

Unlike the earlier passive Fox 3.0 shocks, the Live Valve system is semi-active, adjusting damping in real-time based on sensor input from the steering, throttle, and braking.

1. Generation & Technology Split

To list these professionally, you must distinguish between the “Single Valve” and the new “Dual Valve” systems:

Generation Fits Model Years Technology Key Identifying Feature
Gen 2 2019–2020 Live Valve (Single) Blue shock body; single solenoid on the reservoir.
Gen 3 2021–2023 Live Valve (3.1/3.2) Larger 3.1″ bodies (rear) or 3.2″ (front); finned reservoirs.
Gen 3.5 2024–2026 Dual Live Valve Two solenoids: one for compression, one for rebound.

2. The “Dual Live Valve” Alert (2024–2026)

The latest 2024+ Raptors feature the Dual Live Valve setup. These shocks are not backward compatible with 2019–2023 Raptors without a complete electronics overhaul.

  • Selling Point: These offer “upward of 1,000 pounds of damping per corner.”

  • Inventory Tip: If you source 2024+ shocks, they will only fit a 2024+ truck. Verify if they are from a “Raptor R” (V8), as the spring rates are slightly stiffer than the V6 Raptor.

3. Technical Checklist for “TOP” Quality Listing

  • Solenoid Inspection: The electronics are the most expensive part. Check the wires for fraying or “buzzing” sounds. A “buzzing” solenoid is a common failure point (covered by Ford SSM 48658).

  • Seized Caps: In colder climates, the aluminum solenoid caps can seize. For your luxury brand, verify that the caps are removable or have been treated with anti-seize.

  • Leak Diagnosis: Raptor shocks are “Internal Bypass.” A small amount of “weeping” around the seal is normal by Fox standards, but if oil is dripping down the body, it requires a full rebuild.
