2019-2023 GMC Sierra Denali Dark Walnut/Dark Ash Grey Leather Seats With Console

2019–2023 GMC Sierra 1500 (T1XX platform) introduced the highly distinct Dark Walnut/Dark Ash Grey interior. This color scheme is a hallmark of the Denali trim, offering a rich, earthy alternative to the standard Jet Black. Finding a complete set that includes the center console is a common requirement for full interior conversions.

Design & Material Characteristics

The Denali seats in this generation are significantly wider and more sculpted than the previous K2XX generation.

  • Color Palette: The Dark Walnut (a deep, brownish-charcoal) covers the main seat bolsters and the top of the center console, while the Dark Ash Grey is used for the perforated center inserts and contrast stitching.

  • Leather Quality: These feature Forge Perforated Leather seating surfaces. The Denali trim uses a tighter perforation pattern to accommodate both heating and high-efficiency ventilation.

  • Accents: Genuine Open-Pore Ash Wood trim is typically integrated into the door panels and the sliding lid of the matching center console.

Console & Tech Integration

The center console is a “smart” component in these trucks and contains critical hardware:

  • Wireless Charging: Most Denali consoles from 2019–2023 include an integrated wireless charging pad located just in front of the armrest lid.

  • Connectivity: Features dual USB ports (Type-A and Type-C), a 12V power outlet, and often a 110V household-style plug.

  • Bose® Audio: The console houses the subwoofer or specific shielding for the 7-speaker Bose Premium Series found in the Denali.

  • Storage: Includes a massive main bin, often with a hanging file folder rack capability.

Technical Fitment & Compatibility

Component Details
Platform T1XX (2019+ Silverado/Sierra)
Front Seats 10-way or 12-way Power with 2-way power lumbar.
Climate Heated (3-stage) and Ventilated (Cooled).
Rear Seats 60/40 Split-Bench with “Seatback Storage” compartments (hidden cubbies behind the backrest cushions).
Interchange Will fit 2020–2024 Silverado/Sierra 2500HD/3500HD models.

Critical Inspection Points for Inventory

  • Seatback Storage Hinges: Check the plastic hinges on the rear seatback compartments; they can become brittle or snap if forced.

  • Wireless Charger Pad: Inspect the rubber mat on the console for “bubbling” or heat damage, which sometimes occurs with older smartphone models.

  • Ventilation Blowers: Unlike the older generation, these use more compact brushless motors. Ensure the intake filters under the seat are free of carpet lint or debris.

  • RPO Code: Look for RPO Code GVU (Dark Walnut/Dark Ash) on the Service Parts Identification label to ensure an exact color match.

Important Transition Note

In 2022.5 (the “Refresh” models), the interior layout changed significantly. While the seats are physically interchangeable, the Center Console and the Dashboard interface are different.

  • Pre-Refresh (2019–Early 2022): Uses the “column shifter” or a specific console-mounted shifter for certain trims.

  • Refresh (Late 2022–2023): Features a completely redesigned console with a Electronic Precision Shift (EPS) lever integrated directly into the console.
