Mustang VI Coupé Seats Interior Rear Seat Door Panels
Mustang VI (S550) Coupé, produced from 2015 to 2023, features a driver-centric “double-brow” interior layout. For inventory or restoration purposes, the components vary significantly between the Base and Premium trim levels.
1. Front Seats
The S550 front seats are available in three primary configurations. Note that Premium seats contain internal modules for heating/cooling that are not present in Base models.
-
Base Seats: Manual or 6-way power adjust, typically upholstered in black or “Stone” cloth.
-
Premium Seats: Leather-trimmed with perforated inserts to allow for heating and ventilation (cooling).
-
Recaro® Sport Seats: Optional on GT and EcoBoost models. These feature aggressive lateral bolstering and integrated headrests. Most are manual-adjust to save weight, though leather versions exist for Premium trims.
-
Inventory Tip: Check the airbag connectors; 2015–2017 connectors differ slightly from 2018–2023 models.
-
2. Rear Seats (Coupé Specific)
The Coupé rear seat is a 50/50 split-fold design, unlike the fixed bench found in some earlier generations.
-
Materials: Available in matching cloth or leather.
-
Fitment: These are specific to the Coupé; Convertible rear seats are narrower and will not fit the Coupé due to the folding top mechanism space requirements.
-
ISOFIX: Includes two LATCH anchors for child seats, hidden behind the seat “bight.”
3. Door Panels (Card Assemblies)
The door panels are a frequent upgrade point for S550 owners.
-
Standard (Base): Hard plastic upper section with a cloth insert.
-
Premium: Soft-touch upper materials, leatherette/Alcantara inserts, and often feature Ambient Lighting (MyColor) light pipes near the door handle and map pocket.
-
Speaker Grilles: Premium models equipped with the Shaker Pro or B&O Sound Systems have distinct metal or high-finish grilles.
