Unlike standard rear-wheel-drive W124 transmissions, the 722.342 unit features an integrated transfer case that powers the front axle system, making it exclusive to AWD 4MATIC vehicles. The transmission was purchased by the current owner in early 2025 but was never installed, remaining ready for fitment. A new main seal is already installed on the output shaft, providing added reliability during installation.
