Competition Package Exclusives

• The “Cut-Out” Design: These seats feature iconic gaps in the side bolsters of the backrest, a signature of the F8x Competition Package.

• M-Stripe Seatbelts: Most sets removed from Competition models include the seatbelts with integrated M-Tri-color stitching (Blue/Purple/Red).

   

• Illuminated M3 Logo: Features the high-gloss black seat badge with an illuminated “M3” logo (compatible with factory lighting harnesses).

• Merino Leather: Unlike standard Dakota leather, Merino is a non-pigmented, “open-pore” leather that is softer, more breathable, and maintains a matte finish.

Retrofit & Compatibility Notes

• F30 3-Series / F32 4-Series Swap: These seats are a direct mechanical bolt-on for standard 3 and 4-series models. However, if your car did not originally have electric or heated seats, a custom wiring harness and XENTRY/BimmerCode coding will be required.

• Airbag Compatibility: These seats use “Dual Stage” airbags. Ensure your vehicle’s SRS module is compatible to avoid a “Restraint System” malfunction light.

   

• Logo Illumination: If retrofitting into a non-M car, you will need to tap into the ambient lighting circuit (usually pin 7/14) to power the illuminated M3 seat badges.
