Aston Martin DBS Carbon Fiber Hood Front Bumper Fenders

To assemble or repair a DBS Superleggera, you are looking at the car’s most expensive “Skin” components. Because the DBS was designed to be the lightweight “Super GT,” these parts are almost exclusively pre-preg Carbon Fiber, whereas the DB11 uses aluminum for the same areas.

Here is the breakdown of these three major assemblies:

1. The Clamshell Hood (Bonnet)

  • Part Number: KY73-16612-AC

  • Material: Structural Carbon Fiber.

  • Key Detail: This is a “clamshell,” meaning it encompasses the top of the fenders as well. It features the distinctive twin heat extractors (nostrils) that the DB11 lacks.

  • Cost (New): ~$15,000 – $18,000 (Primed).

  • Note: If you are buying used, ensure the internal air ducting (which directs air to the intake boxes) is undamaged, as these channels are bonded to the underside.

2. The Front Bumper Assembly

  • Part Number: KY73-17757-AB (Lower Splitter: KY73-17L778-AA)

  • Material: Composite/Carbon Fiber.

  • Design: The DBS bumper features a massive “gaping maw” grille for maximum cooling.

  • The Splitter: The carbon fiber front splitter is a separate, highly vulnerable piece. It is common to see these damaged by curbs.

  • Cost (New): Bumper cover (~$4,500) + Carbon Splitter (~$3,200).

  • Note: The DBS bumper has specific mounting points for the Curbside Cameras and Parking Sensors that differ slightly in angle from the DB11.

3. The Front Fenders (Wings)

  • Part Number: KY73-16005-AA (RH) / KY73-16006-AA (LH)

  • Material: Carbon Fiber.

  • Key Detail: Unlike the DB11’s “strakes,” the DBS features a deep “Curlicue” vent behind the front wheel. This isn’t just aesthetic; it’s an aero-feature that extracts high-pressure air from the wheel arch to reduce front-end lift.

  • Cost (New): ~$3,500 – $4,200 per side.

Critical Compatibility Table

Component DBS Superleggera DB11 (V8/V12) Interchangeable?
Hood Carbon w/ Twin Vents Aluminum w/ 2 or 4 Vents No (Latching differs)
Bumper Deep Grille / Large Splitter Integrated “Strake” Grille No (Aero-profiles differ)
Fenders Open “Curlicue” Vent Closed Strake Vent No (Liner mounts differ)
