BMW G20 G21 LCI Front Package Headlight Bumper Bonnet SET
Facelift Upgrade | “Inverted L” LED Tech | M-Sport Styling | 2023–2026
The G20 (Sedan) and G21 (Touring) LCI (Life Cycle Impulse) front-end is one of the most significant design shifts for the 3 Series. Moving away from the “notched” headlight look of the pre-LCI, the 2023+ model features sleek, slim headlights with an “Inverted L” DRL signature. This package is the essential “kit” for LCI retrofits or high-end collision repairs. BMW G20 G21 LCI Front Package Headlight Bumper Bonnet SET
Core Components in the LCI Front Package
LCI Design Intelligence
-
The “Inverted L” Signature: Standard on all LCI models, these lights replace the previous “U” and “Hexagonal” rings. Note that the BMW Laserlight option was discontinued for the G20 LCI, replaced by a superior Matrix LED system with blue design elements.
-
M-Sport Aerodynamics: The LCI M-Sport bumper (Option S715A) has a distinct “honeycomb” texture in the lower central intake. It is much more aggressive than the pre-LCI version and lacks the fog light cutouts, as fog functions are now integrated into the main headlamp units.
-
Shadowline Variant (3MF): This package often features the Shadowline headlights, which have completely blacked-out internal housings for a more sinister look.
Retrofit Intelligence
For 2019–2022 (Pre-LCI) Owners:
The “Full Swap” Rule: You cannot fit LCI headlights to a pre-LCI bumper or vice versa. The shut-lines where the light meets the bumper and hood have changed. A successful retrofit requires the Headlights, Bumper, and Grille as a minimum.
PDC & ACC: Ensure the bumper has the correct configuration for your sensors (usually 6x PDC) and the central radar cutout if your car has Active Cruise Control.
Coding: Retrofitting LCI lights to an older car requires significant coding of the Body Domain Controller (BDC) to manage the new Matrix LED logic.
