BMW X7 G07 LCI Heckklappe Rückleuchten Kamera PDC Verkleidung C4W
Compatibility: BMW X7 (G07) LCI Facelift | Production Years: 2023–Present
This is a complete rear liftgate (Heckklappe) assembly for the G07 LCI, finished in Skyscraper Grey Metallic (C4W). The LCI model features the updated 3D-sculpted “inverted” taillight design and a more integrated technology suite compared to the pre-facelift versions.
Included Components & Technical Specs
-
Main Tailgate Structure: Finished in C4W (Skyscraper Grey). This is the “Split-Tailgate” design (Upper and Lower sections typically sold together).
-
LED Rear Lights (Rückleuchten): * LCI-specific “Smoke” finish with 3D glass geometry.
-
Features the slim chrome bar integrated behind the glass lens (connecting the two units).
-
-
Rear View Camera: Integrated into the handle/latch assembly, compatible with Parking Assistant Plus (Option 5DN) and 360° Surround View.
-
PDC Sensors (Parking Distance Control): Integrated ultrasound sensors with wiring harness.
-
Interior Trim (Verkleidung): Full interior plastic/carpet lining with integrated trunk release and closing buttons.
-
Soft-Close/Automatic Mechanism: High-torque spindles for the power liftgate functionality.
Key Design & Tech Features
-
LCI Lighting Signature: The LCI rear lights are significantly different from the 2019–2022 models. They feature a dark inner housing and a geometric “sickle” LED light bar that creates a more aggressive, modern rear profile.
-
C4W Paint Finish: Skyscraper Grey is a sophisticated metallic finish that replaced several older grey tones. It features a high metallic flake content that emphasizes the X7’s sharp body lines.
-
Smart Opener Logic: The integrated sensors support the “Kick-to-Open” feature (Comfort Access), allowing for hands-free operation of the split-tailgate system.
-
Acoustic Glazing: The rear glass is typically high-thermal/acoustic glass, reducing cabin noise and improving climate control efficiency.
Professional Installation & Cataloging Notes
-
Calibration: After installing a new tailgate with a camera, the Surround View System must be calibrated using BMW ISTA. Failure to calibrate will result in “stitching” errors in the 360° overhead image on the iDrive screen.
-
Coding (LCI Retrofit): If attempting to install LCI lights on a Pre-LCI X7, the BDC (Body Domain Controller) must be flashed with new software, and a wiring adapter for the inner light segments is required.
-
Soft-Close Protection: During transport, ensure the lower tailgate latches are protected. The electronic soft-close motors are sensitive to misalignment if the gate is forced shut manually while the battery is disconnected.
-
PDC Matching: While the sensors are included, they are programmed to specific frequencies. Verify that the sensor part numbers match the vehicle’s PMA (Parking Management) module to avoid “Parking Assistant Malfunction” errors.
