Corvette C6 Z06 Driveshaft Right & Left

For the Corvette C6 Z06, the “driveshafts” (more commonly referred to as CV Axle Shafts) are heavy-duty components designed specifically to handle the 470 lb-ft of torque from the LS7 engine.

1. Technical Identification

The Z06 axles are thicker and stronger than the base C6 Stingray units. They feature a high-strength steel alloy and larger CV joints to prevent failure during hard launches.

  • Left (Driver Side) Axle: GM #25941371

  • Right (Passenger Side) Axle: GM #25941372

  • Spline Count: 33-spline (at the hub) and 31-spline (at the differential).

  • Interchangeability: These axles are identical to those found on the ZR1 and Grand Sport (Manual), but they are an upgrade for base C6 models.

2. Premium Axle Options for Your Catalog

If your clients at Buy Mustang parts Ltd are running high-horsepower builds (supercharged or track-focused), you may want to stock these “bulletproof” aftermarket alternatives:

GForce Performance Engineering Outlaw Axles

These are the industry standard for 1,000+ HP Corvettes. They feature a one-piece CNC machined inner and outer stub and a “no-wheel-hop” design.

  • Material: Aerospace-grade 300M steel.

  • Warranty: Often come with a lifetime warranty against breakage.

The Driveshaft Shop (DSS) Level 5 Axles

The Level 5 kit is designed for extreme drag racing and road course abuse. It uses a larger diameter bar to reduce axle twist.

  • Design: Features internal CV guts made of 300M with a chromoly cage.

  • Fitment: A direct bolt-in replacement for the factory Z06 units.

3. Inventory & Inspection Checklist

To ensure “Luxury Grade” quality for Buy Mustang parts Ltd, verify these points before shipping:

  • CV Boot Integrity: Inspect the rubber boots for any “weeping” or tiny cracks. A leaking boot will quickly lead to joint failure.

  • Spline Condition: Ensure the splines are sharp and free of rolling or flattening, which indicates the previous owner performed heavy drag launches.

  • The “Click” Test: Rotate the joints by hand; there should be smooth resistance with zero audible clicking or play.
