1. Technical Identification

  • Part Number Series: Usually identified within the 950xxx sequence (specifically 950909 or 950907 for the rear right, though part numbers can vary by production date).

  • Technology: Unlike traditional adaptive shocks that use magnetic fluid or valving to change stiffness, this is a fully active unit. It features an integrated 48V electric motor capable of applying active force to the wheel.

  • Performance: It can exert enough force to lift the car or push the wheel down into a pothole, effectively eliminating the need for traditional anti-roll bars.

2. 2026 Market Pricing (Estimated USD)

Due to the high-voltage motor and the precision spool-valve technology, these are some of the most expensive suspension components ever fitted to a production vehicle.

3. Installation & Mechanical Requirements

  • 48V Architecture: Because the shock is powered by the car’s 48V system, replacement requires strict adherence to high-voltage safety protocols. The system must be de-energized before removal.

  • Active Calibration: After installation, the car requires a Dynamic Calibration using the Ferrari DEIS diagnostic tool. The system must “learn” the specific resistance and travel of the new unit to ensure it stays perfectly synced with the rear left shock.

  • Bleeding the System: These units are integrated into a complex hydraulic and electronic circuit. If the hydraulic lines are disconnected, a specialized vacuum-fill and bleed procedure is necessary to ensure no air remains in the spool valves.

4. 2026 Maintenance: Critical Checks

  • Heat Management: The 48V motors on the rear shocks generate significant heat during spirited driving. Ensure the cooling airflow around the rear subframe is unobstructed.

  • Protective Boots: By 2026, owners are advised to inspect the rubber dust boots on the rear shocks during every oil change. Because the TASV system uses high-precision internal seals, any ingress of grit or salt can lead to a premature (and very expensive) failure.

  • Error Codes: If you see a “Suspension System Failure” warning on the dash, it is often related to a voltage drop in the 48V battery rather than a physical failure of the shock itself.
