Headlight Toyota GT86 Xenon Right
Toyota GT86 (ZN6), the right-side (passenger side in LHD markets) Xenon headlight assembly for the pre-facelift models (2012–2016) is a high-value component often found on GTS and Premium trims.
1. Official Part Numbers
To ensure you are getting the correct Xenon (HID) unit and not the basic halogen version, refer to these part numbers:
-
Toyota OEM Part Number:
SU003-05155(Right Hand Assembly). -
Alternative Toyota Number:
SU003-02508(Lens & Body only). -
Subaru Crossover Number:
84002CA122(Often used for the same Xenon unit on the BRZ).
2. Technical Specifications
-
Light Technology: High-Intensity Discharge (HID) / Bi-Xenon.
-
Bulb Type: D4S (35W).
-
Connector: 8-pin main plug (specifically for HID-equipped models).
-
Lens ID: Usually stamped with “HID” or has a distinctive “J-hook” LED DRL strip.
-
Adjustment: Features a motorized vertical leveling system.
3. Sourcing a “Complete” Unit
If you are buying this for a repair, a “complete” unit should include three distinct sections that are often sold separately:
-
The Housing (Lens & Body): The main plastic structure.
-
The HID Ballast: Part
SU003-02558. This is the silver control box screwed to the bottom of the headlight. -
The HID Bulb: The D4S bulb and its igniter cable.
Note: Many aftermarket or “reconditioned” units on the market are sold as “Bare” housings, meaning you must swap your existing ballast and bulbs into the new lens.
4. Zenki vs. Kouki Compatibility
-
Zenki (2012–2016): This is the unit described above with the Xenon projector.
-
Kouki (2017–2021): These models switched to Full LED assemblies. While the physical mounting points are the same, the internal wiring and the shape of the internal “86” logo are different. Retrofitting 2017+ LED lights into a 2014 car requires a specialized wiring adapter.
5. Identification Check
To verify you have the correct Right-Hand side unit:
-
The “Right” side is the Passenger Side for Left-Hand Drive (LHD) cars.
-
Check for the 8-pin connector; the base model Halogen versions only use a 6-pin connector.
