HEADLIGHTS AUDI Q5 LIFT FULL LED MATRIX LEFT RIGHT COMPLETE
Audi Q5 (Type 80A) Facelift (2021–2026), the Full LED Matrix headlights are the top-tier lighting option. Finding a “Complete” set in 2026—including all control modules and ballasts—is a significant investment, as these units are highly complex and vary by region (ECE for Europe vs. SAE for North America).
1. Part Numbers & Identification
The part numbers for the Facelift (LCI) Matrix LED headlights typically follow this sequence. Note that the “E” or “F” suffix often denotes the latest revisions for the Matrix technology.
-
Pre-Facelift (2018–2020) Warning: Parts ending in 80A941033 or 80A941034 (without the “E/F” or with different letters) are likely for the pre-facelift model. The shapes are similar, but the mounting points and internal DRL “signature” (the “L” shape vs. the previous design) are incompatible.
2. What makes it “Complete”?
A truly “Complete” set must include the Control Units (Ballasts). If you buy “bare” housings, you will spend an additional $600–$1,000 on modules. A complete assembly includes:
-
Main LED Power Module: Usually Part No. 7PP941592CB or 7PP941592C.
-
Matrix Beam Control Module: Part No. 80A907397D.
-
DRL/Signal Modules: These are the “fans” and heat sinks visible on the back of the housing (80A998473C Left / 80A998474C Right).
3. Technical Features of the Q5 Matrix
-
Adaptive High Beam: Uses a camera behind the rearview mirror to “mask out” oncoming traffic while keeping the rest of the road fully illuminated.
-
Dynamic Indicators: The “sweeping” or sequential turn signal effect.
-
Coming Home/Leaving Home: A distinct “light show” animation when locking/unlocking the vehicle.
-
Color Temperature: Approx. 5,500K (replicates natural daylight to reduce eye fatigue).
4. Retrofit & Coding (Important for 2026)
If you are upgrading from Standard LED to Matrix LED:
-
Hardware: You may need an additional wiring harness (e.g., from Kufatec) to enable the high-speed data bus required for Matrix functions.
-
Coding: This requires ODIS-E or VCP. You must update the Vehicle Order and perform a “Basic Setting” for the beam height.
-
FSC Codes: Some modern Audi models require a specific Function on Demand (FSC) code to be injected into the central gateway to “unlock” the Matrix capabilities if the car didn’t leave the factory with them.
