AMG Performance vs. Sport Seats | Nappa Leather & Alcantara
The C190 AMG GT interior revolves around two primary seating options. While both are high-end, the AMG Performance Seats (developed with Recaro) are the hallmark of the GTS, GTC, and GTR models, offering the aggressive lateral support necessary for a front-mid-engine supercar. Technical Intelligence: Retrofit & Hardware
 Critical Compatibility Notes:
Module Matching: When swapping seats, you must ensure the Seat Control Modules match your car’s harness. If your car has Heated (873) or Ventilated (401) seats, the donor seats must have these heating elements and fans installed, or you will face dashboard errors.
The “Airscarf” Factor: If sourcing from a Roadster (R190), the seats may include the Airscarf neck-level heating. While these fit physically into a Coupe (C190), the Airscarf functionality will not work without extensive wiring and a new climate control panel.
Weight Sensors: Ensure the passenger seat includes the Occupancy Sensor (WSS). If the sensor is from a different region (e.g., US-spec vs. EU-spec), it may trigger an SRS/Airbag warning light.
