MERCEDES C-CLASS MULTIBEAM W205 AMG LEFT RIGHT COMPLETE
Facelift Upgrade (2018–2021) | High-Performance AMG Lighting
The W205 Facelift introduced the Multibeam LED system as the top-tier lighting option, replacing the earlier “Intelligent Light System” (ILS). These units are identified by their ultra-slim triple-lens array and blue-accented housings. For a “Complete” set, you must ensure the LED control modules (ballasts) are included, as they are often sold separately.

Buying Guide: “Complete” vs. “Bare”
When searching for a “Complete” set, the package must contain:
-
Main Headlight Housing: The lens and plastic shell.
-
LED Control Modules: Each side usually requires one primary ECU and one fan/DRL driver.
-
LED Matrix Chips: Already integrated into the housing.
2026 Marketplace Pricing:
Complete Used Set (Left + Right): $2,200 – $2,800
New (OEM Dealer): $4,500+ for the full kit including modules.
Retrofit Note: If upgrading a pre-facelift (2014–2018) car to these lights, you will need a specialized retrofit wiring harness and a coder to perform SCN coding via XENTRY to prevent the “Highbeam Assist Unavailable” error.
Maintenance & Common Issues
-
Moisture/Condensation: Check the rear seals of used units. The Multibeam units are sensitive to humidity, which can short out the expensive control modules located at the bottom of the housing.
-
Bracket Damage: These lights are secured by plastic tabs that often snap in minor fender-benders. Verify that all mounting ears are original and not “repaired” with glue.
