W290 GT AMG Rear Bumper
Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door (X290) Rear Bumper
V8 Styling | Aerodynamic Diffuser | Quad Exhaust | 2019–2026
The X290 AMG GT 4-Door rear bumper is a modular system that varies significantly between the inline-6 models (GT 43/53) and the V8/Hybrid monsters (GT 63/63 S/E-Performance). For 2024–2026 models, the facelift introduced a more integrated diffuser look and updated “Jet-Wing” elements for the E-Performance variants. W290 GT AMG Rear Bumper

Model Specific Intelligence
-
GT 43 / GT 53 (I6 Models): These typically come with round quad exhaust tips and a flatter rear diffuser. However, many owners opt for the V8 Styling Package (Code P31), which installs the 63 S bumper skin and trapezoidal tips.
-
GT 63 / 63 S (V8 Models): Features the “deep” diffuser and large trapezoidal exhaust exits. The S model often includes the AMG Night Package (High-gloss black accents) as standard.
-
GT 63 S E-Performance: The hybrid flagship features a unique charging port integrated into the right side of the rear bumper (flap located just below the taillight).
Carbon Fiber Exterior Packages
AMG Carbon Package I & II (Code 773/B28):
Rear Diffuser: Replaces the plastic central insert with a vacuum-pressed 2×2 carbon fiber unit.
Rear Fascia Attachments: Carbon fiber trim pieces for the outer bumper vents (side flics).
Mirror Caps & Wing: Usually bundled to complete the lightweight aesthetic.
Technical Tip: OEM Mercedes carbon is highly UV-resistant. Aftermarket “wet-lay” carbon often turns yellow due to the extreme heat generated by the V8 exhaust system.
Retrofit & Conversion: GT 43/53 to GT 63 S Look
To give a GT 43 or 53 the 63 S rear profile:
-
The Bumper Skin: You need the wider V8-Line bumper (A290885…).
-
The Diffuser & Brackets: The 63 S diffuser is physically larger and requires specific inner mounting brackets that differ from the 43/53.
-
Exhaust Tips: You must swap the round tips for the trapezoidal versions. These are “floating” tips and do not require cutting the actual exhaust pipes, only the bumper mounting points.
-
Coding: If the donor bumper has different sensor configurations, your Parktronic system may need to be recalibrated via XENTRY or specialized coding.
