Porsche 991 GTS Control Arm Wheel Hub Front Rear Shock Absorber
For the Porsche 911 GTS (991 generation), the suspension and hub components are a mix of Carrera S parts and track-oriented hardware. Because the GTS features a lower ride height (PASM Sport) and a wider track, these components are precision-matched.
1. Control Arms (Wishbones)
The 991 GTS uses a reinforced lower control arm (often called a “coffin arm”).
-
Front Lower Control Arm: * Part Number:
991-341-053-06(or latest revision).-
Price (2026): $430 – $550 USD (Genuine) / $250 – $320 USD (OEM like TRW).
-
-
Rear Lower Control Arm: * Part Number:
981-331-053-02.-
Price (2026): $420 – $490 USD.
-
-
Aftermarket Upgrades: Kits from Elephant Racing or RSS that include monoball bearings and adjustable shims for track alignment typically cost $1,300 – $2,000 for a full front or rear set.
2. Wheel Hubs & Bearings
The 991 GTS is unique because many were ordered with Center Lock wheels. Hub replacement is significantly more expensive for Center Lock cars.
-
5-Lug Hub (Standard): * Price: $280 – $350 USD.
-
Center Lock Hub (GTS/Turbo/GT3): * Part Number (Rear):
991-331-607-81.-
Price: $390 – $480 USD per hub.
-
-
Wheel Bearings: These are generally pressed into the carrier.
-
Front/Rear Bearing: $115 – $180 USD.
-
3. Front & Rear Shock Absorbers (PASM)
As established, the GTS uses PASM-specific dampers.
-
Front Strut (PASM GTS):
991-343-035-48.-
Price: $1,150 – $1,300 USD.
-
-
Rear Shock (PASM GTS):
991-333-057-40.-
Price: $850 – $1,050 USD.
-
-
The “DSC” Upgrade: In 2026, many GTS owners install a DSC Sport V3 Controller ($1,450) instead of replacing shocks. It plugs into the factory harness and optimizes the existing dampers for better ride quality and track grip.
4. 2026 Component Identification Table
| Component | Position | GTS Specification | Est. Price (Genuine) |
| Control Arm | Front Lower | Reinforced Aluminum | $540 |
| Control Arm | Rear Lower | Wishbone Style | $425 |
| Wheel Hub | Center Lock | Hardened Steel | $450 |
| Wheel Bearing | Front/Rear | Sealed Roller | $120 |
| PASM Strut | Front | 20mm Lowering Tune | $1,250 |
5. Critical Installation Note: The GTS Center Lock
If your GTS has Center Lock hubs, you must not apply anti-seize to the wheel mating surface, only to the threads and cone of the nut itself (using Optimoly TA).
-
Torque Spec: $600\text{ Nm}$ ($443\text{ lb-ft}$).
-
Hub Life: Porsche recommends replacing Center Lock hubs every $6,000\text{–}12,000\text{ track miles}$ or $60,000\text{ street miles}$ due to the extreme stress on the single locking mechanism.
