The 720S Spider Roof System

Unlike a standard hardtop, the Electrochromic Roof uses a laminated glass panel containing a liquid crystal film. When an electric current is applied, the crystals align to let light through; when turned off, they scatter to tint the glass.

• Technology: Suspended Particle Device (SPD) or Liquid Crystal.

• Visual Marker: The roof panel will have a subtle dark blue or charcoal tint even in its “clear” state and lacks the solid interior headliner of the base carbon fiber roof.

• Speed: The 720S Spider roof can retract or deploy in just 11 seconds at speeds up to 50 km/h (31 mph).
