• Tonneau Function: The lid hinges backward to allow the two-piece roof to fold into the storage compartment.

• Heat Management: Features central vent grilles (11A0375CP) designed to vent extreme heat from the 3.8L twin-turbo V8.

   

• Aero Integration: The rear section of this assembly provides the structural base for the Active Airbrake, which acts as a wing and a high-drag brake.

Installation & Fitment Notes

• 12C Compatibility: The 650S Spider tailgate is physically interchangeable with the MP4-12C Spider, but the mesh grille patterns and emblem recesses may differ slightly depending on the specific model year.

• Hinge Alignment: Replacing this unit requires precise calibration of the RHT hinges. If the lid is off by even a few millimeters, it can cause the roof mechanism to “jam” or fail to complete its cycle.
