Toyota GT86, “TRD Design” typically refers to the TRD Performance Line aero body kits. It is important to distinguish between a full replacement bumper and the more common TRD “front spoiler” (lip) that attaches to the factory bumper.

1. Zenki (Pre-facelift: 2012–2016)

For the early models, TRD offered a popular wrap-around front spoiler that gives the car a lower, wider appearance.

  • TRD Front Spoiler: This is an add-on lip for the original bumper.

    • Part Numbers: MS341-18001 (Painted) / MS341-18002 (Non-painted).

    • Features: Requires drilling into the factory bumper for a secure fit. It lowers the ground clearance by approximately 15mm.

  • TRD Release Series 1.0 (US Market): If you are looking for the specific “Yuzu Yellow” look, this used the same TRD aero kit mentioned above.

2. Kouki (Facelift: 2017–2021)

The facelifted GT86 received a more aggressive factory bumper, and the TRD design for this generation is significantly sharper, often featuring integrated LED daytime running lights.

  • TRD Front Spoiler (with LED): * Part Numbers: MS341-18004 (Painted) / MS341-18005 (Non-painted).

    • Design: Features a “claw” style black garnish and integrated LED strips that remain on when the ignition is active.

  • TRD Front Spoiler (without LED): * Part Numbers: MS341-18006 (Painted) / MS341-18007 (Non-painted).

    • Note: This version is identical in shape but lacks the LED light cutouts and wiring.

3. Full Bumper Replacements (Aftermarket)

While TRD primarily produced lips, several aftermarket manufacturers offer Full Bumper Replacements that mimic the TRD style or integrate its features:

  • Aimgain / Stancenation: Offers bumpers that blend TRD-style sharp lines with a wider, more aggressive intake.

  • ABS “TRD Style” Replacements: Many aftermarket vendors sell unpainted ABS plastic bumpers for the 2012–2016 model that are pre-molded to look like the TRD lip is integrated as one solid piece. This is a common solution for owners whose original bumpers are damaged.

4. Technical Installation Tips

  • Material: Genuine TRD parts are typically made of PPE (Polyphenylene Ether) or ABS plastic, which is much more durable than cheap fiberglass (FRP) replicas.

  • Ground Clearance: Be aware that adding the TRD front spoiler increases the overall length of the car by about 35mm to 40mm and reduces clearance.

  • Paint Matching: If buying painted units (e.g., code D4S for Black or K1X for Whit
