BMW M5 F10 Seats Interior Center Console Door Panels
Compatibility: BMW M5 (F10) 2011–2017 | Retrofit: BMW 5 Series (F10 Sedan)
The BMW M5 (F10) interior set represents the peak of luxury for the F-chassis executive sedan. Utilizing Merino Leather, these sets are significantly more advanced than the standard 5 Series “Dakota” interiors, featuring the iconic M Multi-function architecture. This complete set typically includes the active front seats, rear bench, door panels, and the M-specific center console.

Key Performance & Design Features
-
Active Bolster Support: One of the most unique features of the F10 M5 seats is the ability for the side bolsters to automatically tighten based on the car’s lateral $G$-force, keeping the driver firmly planted.
-
Full vs. Extended Leather: A “Full Leather” set will include a leather-wrapped dashboard and upper door sills, whereas “Extended Leather” features these components in a soft-touch synthetic material with leather only on the seats and door centers.
-
M-Stitch Detailing: The center console and door armrests feature precision M-color or contrast stitching, highlighting the hand-finished quality of the M-division craftsmanship.
Professional Installation & Retrofit Notes
-
Gore-Tex Ventilation: If the seats feature the ventilation option, ensure the internal fans are tested. These fans are sensitive to dust and require clear passage through the perforated leather.
-
Wiring (X14 Connector): When retrofitting into a standard 5 Series (e.g., 528i, 535i, 550i), you must ensure the vehicle’s FRM (Footwell Module) and ZGW (Gateway) are coded for Multi-function seats. If the donor car had “Active” bolsters and the recipient does not, specialized wiring for the CAN-bus signal is required.
-
Active Head Restraints: These seats contain pyrotechnic head restraints designed to move forward in a rear-end collision. These must be handled as hazardous materials during shipping and reset/checked via BMW ISTA during installation.
-
Center Console Swap: The M5 center console requires the M-DCT shifter assembly to fit correctly. If installing in a standard automatic car, modifications to the shifter trim or a custom plate may be necessary.
